September seems to be the time for nakedness. OHARA NAKED FESTIVAL (Ohara Hadaka Matsuri) includes o-mikoshi that are carried to Ohara Kaigan Beach where a hoard of loin-clothed youths will wade into the water and heave and shake them, sometimes submerging them in the sea.
